The Winthrop Lodge of Elks held its annual memorial services in the lodge room last Sunday evening with a large attendance. Exalted Ruler Walter J. Marsh and officers directed a solemn program as Joseph A. Barry gave the principal address despite recent appendicitis surgery.

Fire damages home on Hermonst Street
Saturday evening at 5 40 an alarm from 43 brought firemen to a blaze in the house of A Carne celli 120 Hermonst The fire started in a pile of shingles in the cellar near the heater and worked up to the second floor causing heavy damage It was a smoky fire and the firemen suffered from the smoke All out at about 7 P M
