Winthrop Weather Stages Coastline Flooding and Power Outages
Residents faced tidal flooding along Shore Drive with 2 feet of water at noon Tuesday. Children reached school in boots, then stayed indoors as water receded toward Lewis Lake. Debris clogged streets between tides while rowboats operated at high tide. The storm disrupted poles and service across 43 towns, yet Supt. C F Chisholm organized an emergency crew and kept Winthrop and Revere well lit despite the unusual coastal onslaught.
