Representative Edgar F. Power and the Board of Selectmen protested to Commissioner Monk over proposed increases in compulsory automobile insurance rates. The commissioner said rates were tentative and would be announced around September 1, with no guarantee Winthrop’s would drop.
Henry E Keough Co of 28 Pauline Street leads a wide Frigidaire exhibit with New England distributors. Manager Mr Keough and salesman Mr Morrison attend a convention at the Copley Plaza Hotel. The display runs from now until September 1st.
The Winthrop Board of Health fights the summer mosquito infestation, actively cleaning breeding sites. Officials say progress is visible though complaints persist, noting eggs hatch in about a week and that mosquitoes breed in stagnant water.
