Local Man Rescued From Fire At Winthrop Centre Home
Sergeant Louis F Donovan of the Winthrop police rescued Howard E Smiley from a smoke filled bedroom at 44 Winthrop Street Winthrop Centre early Sunday. Smiley had been trapped and partially suffocated but was revived at the police station with help from Dr Daniel O'Brien. Smiley had been staying alone as his family was absent.

Elks Carnival Draws Crowd and Hands Out Gold Prizes
