First Winthrop still seized in history raid at 100 Locust St
Police led by Chief McNeill and Lt Douglas with officers Turner Howatt and Prohibition Officer McNulty raided 100 Locust St revealing a working still. They confiscated 25 gallons capacity, 31 gallon jugs, 900 lbs sugar, 3 gallons wine, 8 empty jugs, corks, hydrometer, and various distilling utensils. John Tewksbury supplied storage for the operation.
