Local Man Killed In Plane Accident In Burlington
Pilot William R Tanner of the Boston and Maine Central Vermont Airways was killed when the plane he was testing made a forced landing and nosed over in a field near Burlington Vermont. Hoyt Gilmore, a Burlington mechanic, survived. Tanner, a six year pilot and former Curtiss-Wright instructor, lived at 26 Lincoln Street Winthrop and held the rank of lieutenant.
