Electric Illuminating Co will furnish an estimated 75 percent of the electrical power required under the new narrow gauge contracts. The award follows a bidding process and names the contractor and scope of supply.

A soldier for years Sgt Jenner retires after a long Army career. Born November 16, 1879 in Mahonoy City, Penn he enlisted July 24, 1899 with Company L 28th Infantry and served in the Philippines from 1899 to 1901, taking part in eight engagements before subsequent reenlistments.
The Winthrop Board of Health reports scarlet fever dropping with only two new cases last week. To curb spread they extended quarantine from four to six weeks, with the State requiring four weeks. Nurse Helena Connors advises sanitation and prevention, aided by local doctors as cases fall to twenty three.
