Reports show Winthrop plans a free rabies vaccination clinic during the April 1 week, Somerville conducts a similar program, and Cambridge eyes a clinic after a local death. Acton reports a rabies case in a six person family. one bite from a pet dog led to concern. Rabies, spread via saliva, causes convulsions and fear of water. no cure exists. In 1934 Winthrop logged 93 dog bites, 798 dogs reported, versus 60 bites in 1933.
