New England Division Formed Under Mobilization Plan

The new Guard will form the 26th Division of New England with 12 000 officers and men. The reorganization adds two coast artillery companies stationed at South Armory Boston New Bedford Fall River Plymouth Hingham Gloucester and Winthrop. Hudson Marlboro each gain a tank company platoon as part of the new force. Boston's Own 101st Infantry will draw battalions from Cambridge Lynn and East Boston Chelsea with headquarters in Boston.

Town Meeting Set With Fourteen Articles on Warrant

A town meeting is scheduled Thursday April 8 in the former High School building. The 14 article warrant includes 650 to certify bonds and notes, 1500 for a World War veterans building on Pauline and Fremont, salary votes for police from Jan 1, and 1700 for Summitay edgestones, plus land purchase near the Loring estate.

Woman's Club Plans Demonstration Lecture on Electricity

The Woman's Club of Winthrop via Suburban Electric Light Company invites members to a special meeting on Tuesday April 27 at 2 o clock in Parish House Bowdoist to hear Frank J Allen of Washington DC present a demonstration on solving the servant problem by electricity. Feri Weiss Leaves Town for Silver Cedars Farm

Mr. Feri Weiss moved this week to Silver Cedars farm at Plimpton Massachusetts. He will be missed by many friends in Winthrop. The town loses a superb citizen and a scholar of unusual versatility.
