Sister Killed At Same Spot Nine Years At Age
A man named Joseph D. Snider and another, Henry Weitman, were struck by a B and O passenger train at Gaston Junction near Fairmont. Snider died from neck and skull injuries. Weitman was hospitalized with a severe head wound but had a fighting chance. Dora, Snider’s sister, had died at the same location nine years earlier when she was 16 while a student at Fairmont school. Coroner and witnesses described the fatal crash on the eastbound track near the Manongahela River bridge while two trains approached. Funeral arrangements to follow for Snider. Weitman’s condition was improving pending further care.
