David Snider Dies at Home Pioneer Citizen of Fairmont
David Newton Snider, 84, longtime Fairmont resident and former tanner, died at his Jefferson Street home after weeks of paralysis. Born in Monongalia County, he served in the Eight Kentucky during the Civil War, later ran a tanning and hardware business, and was active in the Methodist church and Odd Fellows. He is survived by three sisters, many nephews, and his two wives, Mary Cunningham and Edith Palmer. Funeral arrangements are pending.
