Housing and sewer plan heard by City Board

A proposal for furnishing and a sewerage system for Pleasant Valley housing was presented to the City Board by J. W. Eastman of the architectural firm. Plans and estimates were submitted for an $18,000 system with the city’s share around $8,000. The board tabled the matter for further consideration and discussed paving Seventh and eighth streets on Coleman Avenue with the city to pay half of the $300 estimated cost. Citizens on Haymore Street urged more paving and a board visit to assess conditions. The board also discussed a tank installation at the pumping station, spending about $1,000 for a lathe, and efforts to improve water conditions. Other items included remarks by Charles Bornofeld on Baptist convention timelines and school board room occupancy, with various permits and repairs approved or referred for investigation.
