Water supply talk hinges on Fairmont future
Ira L. Smith former water commissioner told a Grace Lutheran meeting that rainwater alone cannot meet Fairmont’s needs. He urged modern filtration plants to provide pure water, arguing the present system is outdated and insufficient to handle the city’s demands. Morris, the current water commissioner, outlined operational issues and the city’s path toward a filtration plant despite costs amid concerns over old shares and funding.
