Antonio Coston an Italian miner from near Kingmont was committed to the State Hospital for the Insane at Weston by the county lunacy commission till morning. In Cartersville Georgia on February 25 J McCorkle a Black man was dragged from jail by about a hundred people and hanged at the city hall as onlookers fired bullets. He had been jailed for breaking into A T Heath home and assaulting Mrs Heath while her husband was away. The wounded man’s wrist bled as he carried the revolver.
Mrs. J H Leonard longtime Monongah resident died at home from illness at age 72. Born in Ritchie county she was formerly Miss Et ta Goodwin and married 55 years ago to Mr Leonard. Survivors include children Loretta McClockey Cairo W Va W M Finley Monongah C H Leonard Clarksburg W M Leonard Monongah Clyde Leonard Monongah and brothers James Goodwin Cairo John Goodwin Ellenboro. Funeral services set for this evening at 7 30 at Monongah church with interment in Ellenboro W Va. Rev R T Webb officiating. Undertaker R L Dunningham in charge and to accompany body to Clarksburg.
Miss Margaret McKinney of this city, a member of the Campaign committee of the West Virginia Equal Suffrage association, left for Wheeling to confer with committee members on the state campaign before November 1936. Mrs Lenna Lowe Yost, vice president and committee chair, also left for Wheeling for the conference. Dr Harriet Jones, another committee member from Wheeling, will attend, with Mrs J Gale Ebert, president of the state organization, not expected to be present.
Two men robbed the North Coast Limited twenty five miles east of Seattle last night. They rifled four pouches of registered mail bound for New York and attempted to dynamite the express car safe, but failed. Northern Pacific special agents and sheriffs pursuit continues.

Samuel Hess of Annabelle was examined by the county lunacy commission after violent behavior and a long illness. His son-in-law testified Hess grew violent, family restrained him, he escaped with an axe to Annabelle’s works, and last night claimed to have been in Heaven and met deceased relatives. He described heavenly signs and warned of a plot against him. He is to be placed in a state institution as relatives state his condition worsened. Also, heavy landslides blocked rail and trolley traffic in central West Virginia, tying up the Monongahela division of the Baltimore and Ohio railroad for eight hours.
