Circus and Lemonade Vendor Visit In Our Midst
The Valley Gig featured a sawdust ring act with a pink lemonade vendor fat lady snake charmer and other performers. The battered tent sat near the bid by the high fridge with a passable show. Attendance was small and managers did not clear much money at this point.
Desirable City Garden Lots Offered for Cultivation
The commercial club garden committee says about ten to twelve desirable garden lots remain in city sections. Guardians will plough and drag the plots. cultivators provide seed and labor. No charge to prepare plots. the crop belongs to the gardener. Planteing is still possible for all but the earliest varieties amid few growing days so far. Public spirit and beautification efforts urged, with neighborhood groups organized for youth supervised gardening. Dr F L Wicks breaks ground on West Fourth Street for a two story brick building, first floor for his use, second floor offices. A D Poe of Tower City visited lone Sunday.
