The American Legion created a national headquarters service and war risk officer network to adjust thousands of compensation claims for dependents of deceased or disabled veterans. National headquarters handled the hardest cases, segregating about $1,000,000 in claims from November 1919 to May 15, 1920. The Legion, conceived in Paris on February 15, 1919, grew to over 1,500,000 members in 9,000 posts and more than 800 women’s auxiliaries. The senate recently passed deportation and admission denial measures for undesirable aliens, a policy the Legion supported since its St Louis 1919 caucus, driven by its national legislative committee chaired by Thomas W. Miller.

Experts state the potential water power of British Columbia equals five Niagara Falls. Unharnessed water could yield 8,000,000 horsepower, while all Canadian-side Niagara power would reach 650,000. Vancouver area plants now produce 123,000 electric horsepower powering mills, streets, and lights. If BC water power were fully dammed, it could power 49 cities the size of Vancouver and New Brunswick combined, making the province a future manufacturing hub.
