U S Dairy Expert Is Sent to North Dakota
Federal dairy expert James M Sherman has been detailed to aid the North Dakota dairy department for two months. He reports for duty August 1 and will learn local conditions with Robert C Jackson in Walsh and Pembina counties. The move, praised by Commissioner Flint, backs the state silo aid policy endorsed by federal authorities amid some legislative skepticism. Barnes county has eight silos this season with more under way, and large projects are planned at Courtenay near Governor Hanna's farm, the agricultural college, and other sites. The program aims to reduce costs while boosting milk production through monolithic concrete silos and extended help from dairymen.
