Odd legal notice from 1871 parish records
The Calcasieu parish police jury met October 17 1871 to lay out a public road and regulate road work. Ordinances cover work duties for laborers, notices to subject road workers, penalties for noncompliance, wage limits for road overseers, and funding from parish for road district maintenance.
