In Spokane Washington on October 25 George W Stocker a justice of the peace found W J Schirmer a wealthy grain buyer guilty of breach of the peace and assault in the third degree for invading a sleeping room at night and pulling lawyer W J Hellman from bed. Schirmer was fined 100 dollars and costs. a prior scuffle left Hellman injured. The dispute began after a heated argument at the house and escalated when Schirmer demanded that Hellman act against an unnamed foe. The court also noted a pillow-tulling incident and the accused paid the fine promptly.
