From Tuesday's Daily Vinita reports Slater McClure and George Higgins drove across a bridge into backwater on Cabin Creek near Amos Dick bridge. The wooden culvert gave way as their buggy hit it and both men fell into water. McClure helped Higgins to a tree and rescued the horse then rode to Bond place exhausted. Bond retrieved Higgins and brought him to shore. Both men were unable to go downtown but expected no serious injuries.
