Fire destroys sheep pens and mule barn at stock yards
Fire broke out at the stock yards sheep pens in Kansas City at three o clock in the afternoon. A high wind spread the blaze, destroying a block of pens and a large mule barn housing hundreds of animals by 4 15. The blaze is now practically under control.

One Killed and Many Injured in Car Wreck
Oklahoma City May 17 One person is dead and ten injured after an interurban car derailed five miles northwest of the city at 9 last night. The car high speed jumped the track and hit a trolley pole. Peace negotiations may be completed at once
