Court of Appeals on Billups Bill Affects Liquor Laws
Guthrie Ohio May 1 The original court of appeals has for weeks heard appeals from county courts on liquor questions and is interpreting the law along with federal interstate laws. The court finds Billups Will conflicts with the Interstate Commerce Clause and the United States Constitution. The opinion notes no reasonable person can force civil war or treason to support laws conflicting with the constitution. Oklahoma is praised for conforming to its organic law with the constitution. Respect for law and strict enforcement are urged to build citizenship. If federal law prohibits shipment of liquor into prohibition territory, enforcement will be difficult until then.
