Novel method of repairing a bicycle tire
Mr. C A Martin, riding home from a sale fifteen miles away, lacked repair materials. He found a book of postage stamps, tore off the outer casing from the tire, pasted two vent stamps over the puncture, replaced the tire and rode twelve miles back to town. He plans to keep stamps in his kit for future repairs.

Joplin Missouri August 29 Missouri, Oklahoma and Gulf railroad has closed talks to use Frisco locks between Baxter Springs and Joplin. William Jen Di Bryan of Nebraska nearly faced arrest by Constable L J H Bowering as a Packard sped toward the Chautauqua grounds in Liberty Missouri. Samuel Woodson of the Commercial Bank was later arrested for speeding, while Bryan addressed a large crowd praising the Chautauqua and lambasting Roosevelt and the Bull Moose party.
