Oklahoma AG Finds Several Laws Unconstitutional in Looming Opinion
Guthrie March 29 Assistant Attorney General Charles N Moore says a number of bills from the recent special session likely violate the constitution. He cites Senate bill 103 selling school land near Oklahoma City and other provisions including death penalty for criminal assault and funding transfers between districts as likely unconstitutional due to overstepping authority, unconstitutional wording, or misapplied funding. The governor signed several measures despite the opinion, including the Oklahoma City school land bill and a repeal attempt of the Taylor general election law.
