ITFederal secure EPA approval to subdivide 30 acres from the 440-acre Avtex site in Front Royal for a $40 million three-building data center. The project, announced in 2015, aims to employ about 600 people and move forward after a ceremonial October groundbreaking stalled while the agency reviewed the subdivision.
Front Royal resident Russell Polen 47 dies in trench collapse on Battle Town Drive. Rescue crews from Clarke, Fairfax and Loudoun counties converge as officials confirm fatal injuries after a struggle to reach him. Polen had just bought a home and was two weeks from his first mortgage payment.
