Mining blast order drags on as inspectors weigh lifting
Mine inspectors gave no timeline to lift the blasting halt at the I 66 and US 340 522 quarry where fly rock damaged 10 vehicles and a fitness center. Public safety officials said the site remains under close monitoring and blasting may resume only under restricted conditions after a satisfactory number of blasts.
