Criser Road trail plans move forward only if a $200,000 grant is secured this spring. Council will decide Monday night whether to advance construction with bike lanes and a 10 foot shared path. The Criser Road bridge replacement is slated for April to align with traffic goals.
A proposed footpath would run 0.64 miles from the Happy Creek Trail along Criser Road toward Royal Avenue. planners envision a connection to an extended Dickey Ridge Trail, linking the routes in the vicinity.
The project carries an estimated price tag of 210000 dollars and the town hopes a grant will cover most or all of the expense.

Front Royal resident Gary Bradley Turner, 46, was indicted in Warren County Circuit Court on one felony count of robbing a business after a Sept. 17 gas station robbery. A mental exam was ordered and a hearing set for Jan. 25, 2017. Police learned Turner did not brandish a weapon but appeared armed.
