Veterans Day Open House Planned by Post 53 in Front Royal
Giles B. Cook Post 53 of the American Legion will follow its Veterans Day observance at the Warren County Courthouse with an open house at the post home. Warren County Commonwealth's Attorney Brian Madden will keynote the observance at 11 a.m. Friday, not in his county prosecutor role, according to organizer Doug Ramos.

Murder trial slated for April in Warren County
West Virginia man Clay Marshall Curtis, 63, of Welch, faces a first degree murder charge in the December 2014 death of Welch cab driver Simon J. Funk Jr. The trial is scheduled for April 10 to 14 in Warren County Circuit Court, per Circuit Court Clerk Daryl Funk. Girl found ends missing alert in Fauquier County
Warrenton teen Karley Mae Shanks, reported missing last week, was located Tuesday at a local motel. The Fauquier County Sheriff's Office canceled the alert shortly before 9:30 a.m., after upgrading her status from runaway-missing to missing and endangered. Shanks was last seen early Oct 30 at home.
