History comes alive as Civil War re-enactors stage a Front Royal event with Union and Confederate camps on the courthouse lawn and Balthis House Green. City streets close 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday for the public forums and demonstrations running 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Traffic will be closed 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday for a Civil War Weekend featuring interactive forums at the Balthis House Green and Warren County Courthouse, a 1 p.m. battle reenactment from East Main to Chester Street, live music by Bébhinn Egger’s students at 11 a.m. at the gazebo, Tuscarora Brass at 11:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the Warren Heritage Society, plus all-day information tables and food vendors in the gazebo area.
Town council debates the 2016-17 budget with Councilwoman Bebinn Egger challenging the need for a new investigations unit position and the data backing it. A 14 year old girl who left Shenandoah Farms on Monday with her dog was reported missing Tuesday and located Wednesday afternoon by the Warren County Sheriff's Office. The girl departed from the 600 block of Pineridge Drive around 6 30 p m on foot with a brown Labrador pit bull mix.
