Freeman Kilby lead NAACP revival for Shenandoah County
Freeman and Kilby, longtime Front Royal residents, are revitalizing the county NAACP chapter. They aim to elect a local board in November, host a Nov. 2 banquet, and launch Juneteenth events with speakers, dancers, music, and vendors while addressing race-relations and school name changes linked to the Confederacy. The effort includes partnerships with state NAACP and ongoing suit against Shenandoah County School Board over Mountain View and Honey Run name changes.
