Front Royal woman pleads guilty to oxycodone ring
Candie Marie Calix, 40, admitted leading an Arlington doctor based oxycodone distribution network from 2012 to 2022. She recruited patients from Front Royal, distributed or coordinated sale of 30 mg pills at 25 dollars each, earning monthly profits around 5,000 dollars. Co-conspirators Kendall Sovereign and Jessica Talbott also pled guilty and face Sept. 21 sentencing. Calix faces Sept. 28. The OCDETF investigation led the case with U S Attorney Katharine Rumbaugh prosecuting.

Judge Bruce D Alberson will oversee nine to ten jurors with alternates, then dismissing them after closing arguments. Some co-defendants were dismissed or settled including Linda Hass enplug McDonald’s mother and the Little Rugratz Daycare LLC matter for $50 000 plus interest.

Front Royal man’s federal drug sentence reduced to 10 years
Da Shawan Edwards, 27, had his 14 year federal drug sentence cut to 120 months under the First Step Act. Judge Michael Urbanski cited Edwards' conduct, classes, and maturation, with release now scheduled for October 2024. He was part of a 13 member heroin distribution conspiracy that operated in Front Royal, causing five non fatal overdoses.
