Sayre then moved to appoint Ralph Rinaldi to the Shenandoah seat, approved 4-1, with Sayre dissenting. Sayre later defeated Rinaldi in November by 232 votes for the Board of Supervisors seat. Lorraine Smelser and Michael Stickley were named to the Planning Commission representing South River and North River, with all three reappointed to four-year terms.

Christendom Eyes Town Land Buy Near I 66
Christendom College questions a town offer to purchase the town's half interest in two Shenandoah Shores Road properties near Interstate 66. The college would use the four acre site for athletic fields with possible stands, while the town considers keeping ownership for a potential future interchange and to avoid reacquisition if plans shift. The council favored letting the college use the land and asked Silek and the town attorney to draft an agreement for a future session.
