Woodstock man leads police on chase
A Woodstock man, Jacob Shrum, 38, faced pending charges after a chase from Front Royal to Frederick County Friday afternoon. Frederick deputies, aided by spike strips on Front Royal Pike, stopped the vehicle after it ran over the strips. Shrum resisted arrest, was Tasered, and received medical attention. Front Royal Police assisted, with the chase beginning on North Shenandoah.

Fauquier County Sheriff's Office identifies John Sheldon Kearns as a suspect in the 2012 death of former Winchester Star reporter Sarah Libbey Greenhalgh. Kearns, 51, longtime former boyfriend, had fingerprints taken after a search warrant was filed in circuit court. Greenhalgh, 48, was found shot in the neck July 9, 2012, at her Upperville cottage on Dunvegan Drive.

Indictment Names Trudy Byrd Deal in Five July 2014 Counts
A Front Royal Windsor County grand jury charged Trudy Byrd Deal, 32, of Patrot Place Woodstock, with five counts from July 26, 2014. DUI, breath test refusal, two felony child endangerment charges, plus hit and run and assault and battery.
