Officials cut the ribbon November 18 outside the Edward Jones Investments office at 8502 Winchester Road. Financial adviser Greg Demski moved into the new office nine days earlier, signaling the local business expansion.

Front Royal Warren County School Board members attended the Virginia School Board Association Annual Convention in Williamsburg where about 1,000 governance leaders joined over 50 workshops on school construction and sustainable energy. Superintendent Greg Drescher praised the event as a valuable community investment for learning statewide and nationwide trends.
R-MA released president, dean and principal lists for the first quarter. Included local students span Front Royal, Linden, Middletown, Strasburg and Front Royal area, with seniors, juniors, sophomores, eighth and seventh graders named for high marks and GPAs.
The group extends its program to aid one family per military branch, later expanding in 2014 to 10 families. Gift cards of 500, 200, and 150 dollars were distributed, with referrals vetted by legitimate advocates on bases or VA facilities. Donations fund a nationwide effort with no administrative fees, and a December fundraising event at Lucky Star Restaurant aims to boost contributions.
