Egger Bills Backlash Over Meals Tax Deal in Front Royal
Front Royal councilmember Bébhina Egger criticized the county meals tax in a 4-2 vote approving an MOA to pay the town 30 percent of meals tax and 5 percent of lodging tax revenue from the Winchester Road corridor. She warned the plan could bind the town to water and sewer obligations and questioned legality, amid fears of lost revenue and higher rates.
