At Lynn Massachusetts on the 22d of the month Frank F. Dingley of Minneapolis set world marks from 51 to 100 miles in a race against Knapp of river. He clocked 2 hours 42 minutes 89 seconds for fifty miles and then reached 100 miles in 5 hours 38 minutes 44. 7 seconds ahead of Fay of England and 25 minutes 1 second ahead of Ives of Meriden. The feat used a roadster wheel while previous records used racing wheels.

California sugar king eyes beet industry in US
