Interstate Commission Rules of Practice Adopted in Washington

The commission in Washington adopts rules for practice before it. Hearings for petitions and complaints begin at 11 a.m. daily on weekdays in Washington. Applications to charge different rates must be filed by an agent or officer with a petition and two newspapers notice for at least ten days. Hearings will be scheduled after petition presentation. Complaints against carriers require an attested petition with copies for each carrier and the complainant’s address. Carriers must answer within twenty days. failure allows the commission to proceed with proof and issue an order. If a carrier finds the complaint insufficient, it may foreclose by notifying readiness to hear, admitting facts, and setting a hearing time unless otherwise ordered. The hearing location is the commission’s Washington office unless stated otherwise.
