Anderson Breaks His Neck Near Berthold on Great Northern
A well dressed man named Chas Anderson, about 35, was found dead beside the Great Northern track four miles west of Berthold at 6 PM Monday. He traveled from Kalispell to Minneapolis on a through ticket, carried a roll of cash and a gold watch, and likely fell from a vestibule door while the train, moving at about 45 miles per hour, was en route. The obituary-like report notes the body was taken to MeJannett's morgue and that he may have been en route from Minneapolis with unclear ties to his origin. The inquest occurred Monday morning. officials speculate no foul play.

Burlington Elevator Burned in Night Fire
The Royal elevator at Burlington burned Friday night starting near eleven o'clock and raged into the morning. Firefighters saved the stock yards and other buildings as the origin remained uncertain with suspicions of arson. The 150000 bushel capacity elevator contained flax and other grain, and the scene interrupted a nearby dance as workers moved grain to safety. The loss is heavy for the area during a peak grain-buying season and a rebuild is uncertain.
