Big tarantula found in Hankinson. locals sign pledge

A giant tarantula discovered by Mrs. B A King in Hankinson on Tuesday afternoon likely rode in banana shipment. The spider was captured unharmed, taken to Hankinson Drug Co. and chloroformed for preservation. It now sits in alcohol as a natural history specimen while prominent citizens have signed a pledge after viewing it.

Hold Up On Soo Passenger Train At Hankinson

A Soo Line passenger train was briefly halted in Hankinson when work crews moving the old Great Northern depot building caused a track obstruction. The incident, witnessed by bystanders, ended with minor delay of about fifteen minutes as the building was relocated.

The rig struck the rail wheeling the car, bruising his face. taken to a doctor, the vehicle was set to rights and repaired. his sister Susanna, in the bogey, was thrown out but unharmed.

Former Fargoan Davies killed by switch engine near Devils Lake

Davies about 40 with ties to Fargo and Foss ton Minn was fatally run over by a switch engine near the stock yards one mile west of Devils Lake. The body was found by Great Northern crew around 3 30 this morning and moved to the Gilbertson undertaking parlors. Coroner Gilbertson notified the death is reported as an accident and Davies may have been hard of hearing. His family is in Fargo.
