H M Graves of Olive sixteen miles south of Minot reports 181 acres of flax with four oxen producing eighteen bushels per acre. He netted about 3258 after feeding costs and sale at one dollar per bushel. A hired man and Graves managed other work while a coal mine operated nearby.
