Hundreds of Hunters Enjoy Early Season Outing in North Dakota Fields
Hundreds of hunters from the city went out before dawn for ducks and prairie birds in the Minot Des Lacs area. Reports say hunting is excellent with many taking their limits of fifteen ducks or five grouse as the season runs from September 16 to December 2. A party including H. M. Wilson and others camped near the Ginther ranch south of Des Lacs as part of numerous hunting parties arranged for the fall.

Motion for Layer Trial to Be Asked in North Carolina
A motion will be filed within 10 days in Washburn district court seeking a trial for Henry Layer, who confessed to slaying eight people at Turtle Lake last April. Attorneys E. P. Lightning strikes Surrey Farmers Elevator in North Dakota
The Farmers Co operative Elevator at Surrey caught fire early the day after and damage is estimated at 500 dollars. Firemen extinguished the blaze. a 14 foot steel rod and cupola suffered damage while the blaze started in several spots and threatened thousands of bushels of grain. Close by, duck hunting reports indicate abundant game around Glenburn and local ponds.
