The hunting season began Sunday with many out at dawn. Reported captures include numerous ducks and chickens, with Ed Kelley and Dan Doherty hunting without a dog to reach the limit before ten. Strangers Exchange Shots in Lakota Killing Suicide
Two wall dressed strangers quarrelled in the Lakota jungles over rotten eggs. A smaller man used a 44 revolver to shoot his companion three times, killing him, then wounded himself. He survived and admitted the shooting but gave no motive. The dead man was later identified as Frank Fisher, son of George Fisher of Tucson, a known wild youth. The shooter is named Fred Mitchell of Providence, Rhode Island. Three tramp witnesses saw the incident. Local authorities and hospital reports detail injuries and uncertain IDs.
