Man Knocked Out After Drinking Suspect Beer
Axel HB Noxon of Dwight North Dakota stopped at Wahpeton and drank beer with two men at the Commercial hotel. The beer contained knockout drops and he woke in an alley later with $38 missing and his companions gone. He borrowed money from his brother in law to continue and pawned his suit.

The Berthold land registration in Minot closed at midnight with 12 458 total registrants. Notaries rushed to process affidavits as contenders vied to be the final registrant, including John Stevenson who registered seconds before the stroke. Tollet Sather of Lansford arrived early but was blocked as he was not yet a citizen. Robert Gillespie aided by waking the county judge’s clerk and secured papers so John H. Stenersen could register a minute and a half before twelve.

Frank Gotch, world champion in catch as catch can, defeated George Hackenschmidt in Chicago on Monday afternoon before 35 000 fans. He took the first fall in 14 minutes 18 seconds and the second in 6 minutes 32 seconds, both by holds. Gotch earned $21 000 plus half the moving picture profits. Hackenschmidt received $11 000.

The Stanley post office was robbed Monday night. The safe door was blown off with nitroglycerine but intruders fled before accessing the main money drawer, taking between five and ten dollars in cash and stamps. Mrs H. 8. Johnson Injured in Kitchen Kerosene Blast
Mrs H. 8. Johnson wife of Rogers Lumber Co. manager was injured at her Eastwood Park home after she poured kerosene into a lit stove thinking it out. The blast singed hair and eyebrows and caused facial burns with minor injuries reported.

Tragic Hatchet Attack Shocks North Dakota Family
A. A. Peters, near Epping, North Dakota, attacked his wife and five children with a hatchet at dawn. All but one girl and an infant were severely wounded. Peters killed himself after placing a shotgun in his mouth. The oldest son, 15, survived. the family had a prolonged struggle before help arrived. The wife and one daughter are expected to die. The wounded were brought to Williston. the wife to be brought by train that night.
