Joseph Benfiet of Minuta, 78, died at his son's home Friday night after a long illness. Funeral from the Catholic Church Sunday at 4 p.m. Interment in local cemetery. Survived by seven sons and one daughter. wife died six years ago. Born in Germany, he moved to Haven, North Dakota, twelve years ago and later to Minuta, where he worked as a carpenter most of his life.

Elmer Francis Dies in Rochester Minnesota
Minot friends learn of Elmer Francis death at a Rochester hospital Tuesday evening. He suffered from kidney disease and had been in and out of care after traveling for treatment. Funeral set for Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Methodist church, with burial at Rose Hill beside his father Cyrus Francis. He was an early settler, a lifelong pioneer, survived by a large family and siblings across North Dakota and Minnesota.
