Old Log Cabin Rebuilt at Park

Mrs Walter Bangs Dies After Childbirth in Minot
Mrs Walter Bangs a prominent Minot woman died Wednesday evening at her home after giving birth to a baby boy six weeks earlier. She suffered a stomach ulcer hemorrhage and declined rapidly. Born in Ida Grove she was 27 and survived by her mother sister husband and infant son. She was active in social and musical circles and a longtime member of the Presbyterian church and local choirs. The Independent extends sympathy to her family.

Normal Opens Tuesday With Large Enrollment

Switch Engine And Auto Collide In Minot Neighborhood
A Studebaker owned by the Motor Inn and driven by employee James Kobs collided with a switch engine near Belyea Avenue housing by the Minot Flour Mill about 11 o clock Sunday evening. Anton Novak, a car occupant, was thrown to the ground but not seriously injured. Kobs remained in his seat as the machine left, with front damage and headlights battered.

White Way bids postponed again at city meeting
At Monday's city commission session the proposal to reject bids for Great White Way was laid over to the next meeting. Engineer Thomas said the city could install the post 5 percent cheaper than the Roberts Perkins Co. bid of 13 846. President Davie hopes to save property owners a few hundred dollars though failure to proceed could invite censure. Davis and Dorman opposed the delay. Commissioner Shaw warned the city may lack funds for the extra lighting costing about 85000 annually.
