Mrs Mark M Chatfield learned of the sudden death of her sister Miss Mattie Berkett who lived on a claim three miles northeast of Glenburn Ellsworth Minn She was about thirty years old a trained nurse well known in Minot and admired for many accomplishments.
Sheriff Lee Monday arrested Harry Hamilton the man who held up the sheriff near Burlington last fall. Hamilton is charged as an escaped convict from Joliet Illinois and is out on a $3000 bond. He faces a possible Illinois transfer after local charges. Also notices offer rewards for cattle from Ole Ramstad ranch and late model oxen owned by Andrew Jacobson Burlington and Andrew Eidal Minot.
Haery Olmstead resigns as cashier of Union National Bank after lead role in over a year of operation. He moves to California to start his own business, will accompany wife to New York before departure. Replacement noted as more capable. Olmstead’s social circle in Minot expresses high regard.
Notice of foreclosure details a mortgage by W T Smith and Mary H Smith to John J Elliott dated January 4 1906 filed in Ward County North Dakota. The sale of the E14 part of Block 26 of Tolly's plat Kenmare is set for January 12 1907 at 2 pm at the Ward County Courthouse to satisfy 535.80 with costs.
A contest affidavit against homestead entry No 1S in Township 12N Rando St ty Henry Cain claims abandonment and lack of residence for the land. The notice lists the contesting party Gus Andursus and notes inspection at 9 oclock. A lost item is also mentioned: a white sow with pig, reported by Steve Voor of Burlington.
