John Staff of Minot area shot and instantly killed his wife at seven Sunday morning after a quarrel. He surrendered claiming the shooting was accidental and he did not know his wife was in the barrel. He faces first degree murder charges. Staff had been in Minot the previous day.
State's Attorney Nestos amends the county complaint seeking about 14,846.40 plus interest, claiming Warren and deputies traveled more miles than previously stated and owed funds to the county institute fund. The article also describes a confirmation service at Bethania United Lutheran Church with twelve youths confirmed and new members added.
After a weekend quarrel, Staff returned home drunk and threatened his wife. She hid in a rain barrel, Stan Staff hunted with a 45-70 rifle, then shot at her near the barrel, missing the target but striking the barrel bottom. The incident continued with pursuit and investigation.

He described seven beatings, pins passed through his flesh, and a blood test act. His father sought 35,000 damages. Oscar received 6000 from a judge.

Mil town May 10. Ciaries Milton of North Dakota testified as a principal witness in the government suit against International Harvester. He said farmers were satisfied with the companys products and service from campaigning knowledge. Henry McLain, a North Dakota senator, also testified supporting improvements and competition. Hearings conclude here late next week with adjournment to Chicago.
Leslie Benno was bitten by John Trapp's large Shepherd in the alley behind the McCoy drug store Friday. The dog ripped Benno's new $40 suit and flesh. a cauterizing was performed and officials expect no serious lasting injury.
