Husband Kills Wife Over Booze in Minot Tragedy
Joe M McPeek shot his former wife Bertha McPeek at Mrs Shaw's rooming house 112 Park Avenue a few minutes past midnight Tuesday. He used a 2.88 caliber Harrington Richardson revolver bought two weeks earlier and then surrendered to police two hours later. The couple had separated after years of abuse. their daughter Crystal 7 witnessed the murder. Coroner's inquest found death by bullet from a revolver with felonious intent. McPeek, arraigned before Judge Lynch, faces trial with attorney Charles D Kelso.
