Body Returned in Murder Case of Texas Horse Dealer Vergara
The body of Vergara, an American horse dealer lured into Mexico, was returned to Texas for burial. Four bullet wounds and a crushed skull marked the remains, with violence evident. Mexicans hired by Hall, brother-in-law of the murdered man, allegedly disinterred the body from a Mexican burying ground. Vergara had complained that Mexicans had stolen his horses and lured him across the border with a promised payment.

Williston rancher convicted of manslaughter in fatal crash
Chas Baldwin a prominent rancher near Williston was found guilty of manslaughter in the third degree for accidentally fatally striking Eden Amundson, a twelve year old, with his car last August. Milton farmer found guilty of first degree manslaughter
