Billy Jerome editor of the Kenmare News was arrested on a warrant by Vic Corbett Receiver of the Minot land office. Corbett alleges Jerome misappropriated about 600 dollars. Jerome posted bail and a hearing is expected this week.
John Jorgenson a Great Northern Fargo to Devil Lake mail clerk was killed when he fell from a fast moving train near Finley while an unopened mail sack blocked his door. His body surfaced under a railroad bridge after a search. wife and two sons survive. Funeral plans set in Hope with interment at a local cemetery.
The text describes three days of annual meetings with an institute style program. It mentions remodeling of buildings and a special event at a farm in June. A second meeting is planned in Minot on Saturday March 13 where W A Peck will discuss potential outside aid.

In Ross Montana Leonard Retherat bit off an ear of Canadian landman Murphy after a row linked to a keg of beer and a card game. The incident followed a large elk shipment from Yellowstone Park, where 50 of 51 elk were unloaded with one trampled to death. Over 400 spectators watched the event.
Bovey Shute Lumber Co invites builders with a city lot to buy materials to construct a house with monthly payments. Plans and specifications free. A. W. Lucas, mayor of Bismarck, has resigned.
Minot will gain a local furniture retailer as Cona Lidstrom, longtime competitor of Melannet and Weinrobe, has leased the former Economy Droje stone building and will announce an opening soon. He is known as courteous and skilled in the business.
An elderly couple, Mrs Altha Ross and Benjamin Gilson, were arrested at Burt North Dakota on a Mann Act complaint. Gilson allegedly brought Ross from West Virginia. Ross is sixty and Gilson two years older. Five children reportedly moved with the couple.
Governor Hanna names the members of the state's first board of regents. The group, including former Governor Frank White and Emil Keon, will oversee all educational institutions. Power is noted as a farmer and son of a former college president. all appointees described as good businessmen.
Citizens complain of foul odor from the Mouse river water even after treatment at the plant. They attribute the smell to winter conditions and lack of air exposure delaying purification.

Ward county saves 10800 by a State write off after talks with county commissioners. The state now charges Ward county 2115 per month for 47 patients at Jamestown asylum, at 15 dollars each per month.

Mrs. Alice R. Steele wife of J. R. Steele and a Berthold farmer died at St. Josephs hospital on Thursday February 25 from nephritis. She was 47. The remains were shipped to Berthold for burial. Hundreds mourn her loss.

Carl Bartleson won the contract to build a four room brick school house at Lone Tree for 8465 dollars. Other bids included Swen Olson 8860, J Dearman 9980, G Thoraldson 9099, Olson and Weckseth 9150, Woods McDonald 10018. Minot Plumbing and Heating Co secured the plumbing contract. Foster and Company bid 1590, Chart Barton 1850, Moorhead Plumbing and Heating Co 1942.
